Second Sebring win in a row

Russell Ward, Philip Ellis and Indy Dontje win the GTD class at the Sebring 12 Hours again in the #57 Mercedes-AMG GT3.

WINWARD Racing has repeated last year’s success. At the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in Florida, the #57 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Russell Ward, Philip Ellis and Indy Dontje won the GTD class. It was the trio’s second Sebring win in a row.

The classic on the former airfield is the second endurance round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and one of the toughest races on the calendar. After fourth place at the Daytona season opener, the win took reigning GTD champions Ward and Ellis to the top of the standings.

For the Texan team, the win is a strong signal at the start of its title defence.
